Bridget Flanagan - The St Ives Causeway
The causeway, which carries the London Road from the river bridge across the riverside meadows, was built in 1822. It needs extensive repair and when there was a threat that it might be demolished Bridget carried out extensive research into its history.
The causeway now has a "Grade 2 Heritage" listing.

The traditional "crowning" of Potto Brown on the anniversary of his birth will take place at his monument in The Green.
This will be followed by:
A Conducted Historical Walk round the Village and the evening will end with refreshments.

Stuart Orme - An Introduction to Historic Costume
Stuart will explode myths such as "medieval peasants all wore brown and Puritans wore black" and that "everyone was much shorter in the past". The talk deals with the development of clothing and what this can tell us about our ancestors and the way that they lived.
